Devblog Update 2.6: Style consistency

(Wow… if you’re wondering where post 2.5 went, it’s lost in the vast emptiness of the web. I accidentally edited it instead of duplicating it to make this new post. Yikes. Won’t make that mistake again…)
Well, even though the grass and trees from last devblog looked amazing, they weren’t really very consistent with the artstyle we’re going for. I came up with alternate grass, and more “blocky” trees, which fits better overall. Ideally I’d like to find some middle-ground combinations of the two types of trees/grass, but visual consistency is important.

The grass might be a bit too wavy 😛 Looks like green water. There are still some other visual inconsistencies, and things that obviously need some work, but overall, it is a more cohesive visual experience.

Also, as promised, here’s an updated closeup of the main character, Jasper. A few tweaks left, but it looks a lot better than it did a few months ago!

We’ve also got a beautiful mood piece of art almost done, lots of world-building, and conversations about overall design and direction. Maybe next time I can go more into depth on those things. Thanks for sticking with us!
